10/23/14 Verrado Marching Invitational

Here are the quick and dirty details for Saturday's marching competition.

Location: 20050 W Indian School Rd, Buckeye, AZ 85326
Call Time: 2:00 p.m. at the MPHS Band Room
Performance: 5:00 p.m.
Awards Ceremony: 9:15 p.m.
Return to MPHS: The awards ceremony may last an hour, so anticipate a late return. It may be best for students to plan to call parents with an estimated arrival time as we leave the campus .

Uniforms: When I last spoke to Mr. Hartgrove, the plan was for the students to change into uniforms once they arrive at Verrado High School. After their performance, they will be allowed to change back into their street clothes and get dinner from the concessions at Verrado. Students will need to bring money to purchase their dinner. There will likely be t-shirts and other memorabilia available for sale as well, so they may want to bring extra cash.

Please remind your students of the following:
  • Long black socks (mid-calf or knee-length) must be worn with their black marching shoes
  • Wear black shorts and the 007 show shirt under the uniform
  • Clean/polish shoes if necessary
  • Lady Lionhearts must wear hair up in braids or pulled up off the neck with hair pins  
  • Bring a refillable water container
Some of our regular parent volunteers will not be able to attend, so if you plan to be their, we may call on you to help load and unload the truck and also help move the pit instruments on and off the field during the competition. You can help us with this even if you have not been cleared as a volunteer by the district.
