09/07/14 Important Info for Marching and Concert Bands

We have an urgent need for more volunteers who have been fingerprinted and cleared by the district.

We lost 10 of our district-cleared volunteers from last year because their students graduated. So far, we have no new cleared parents to fill that void. First aid volunteers are of particular concern as we have not been able to find enough parents with district-clearance to cover marching band practices.

Many of our parents have jumped in to help out when and where they have seen a need. That has been fantastic and very much appreciated. What we need in addition to this can-do attitude are a few parents who are willing to go through the district fingerprinting/clearance process and step in to take charge of a few key positions.

To those parents who have already submitted volunteer applications, THANK YOU! If you have not yet heard from the district regarding your application, contact MPHS Activities Assistant, Marie Slany (mslany@tuhsd.k12.az.us) to see if she can check on the status and help move things along. When you contact Marie, please also copy Volunteer Coordinator, Susi Fathauer and the Boosters as well. (MountainPointeBand@gmail.com and sfathauer@tuhsd.k12.az.us)

If you have not started the process, it is not to late! Please consider adding your name to our list of cleared parents. We will need both marching band and concert-only parents in the coming year. Parents need only go through the process once as the clearance is automatically renewed as long as they continue to have a student enrolled in the program.

Here are two links to pages with more information about the process:

You can also contact Marie Slany or Susi Fathauer if you have additional questions.

Thank you for your support.
