NAU Band Day (10/2010)
Congratulations to the Lionhearts for their performance at NAU Band Day on Saturday. Despite a bus break-down, a cramped ride, a hurried warm-up (or no pit warm-up), the Lionhearts earned an "Excellent" rating and were honored with Caption Awards for Music Performance and Percussion Performance.
Congratulations to the Jazz Ensemble (04/2010)
The Jazz Ensemble received a rating of "Excellent" at ABODA State Jazz Festival. We applaud the hard work of Mr. Epping and the students who put this group together after school hours.
Congratulations to the Wind Ensemble (04/2010)
The Wind Ensemble had a very successful day at ABODA State Festival. They received a rating of "Superior," including a Superior rating in Sight Reading! This is a gratifying and impressive accomplishment for our young musicians.
Congratulations to Kevin Beck (04/2010)
Kevin Beck won the Arizona Band and Orchestra Directors Association Scholarship at the All-State Band Festival. This prestigious award is presented to an outstanding senior who plans to become a music major in college. The cash award is not only an acknowledgment of a job well done as a young musician, but a warm welcome from the music educators of the state to the future members of our noble profession.
Mayor’s School of Excellence Award (04/2010)
Mountain Pointe High School Wins Mayor’s School of Excellence Award! Mayor Phil Gordon presented Mountain Pointe High School with a $1,000 check during a ceremony at the school on April 23, 2010. BlueCross/BlueShield of Arizona donated the cash award. Click here to view press release.
